Ten best concept cars of this year that has the potential to make their way into production.
Car enthusiasts have always been wondering about the future of cars, while automakers keep nourishing our imaginations with their innovative technologies. In 2014, we witnessed a number concept cars unveiled by renowned car manufactures across the world. Today, we have picked ten best concept cars of this year that has the potential to make their way into production
1- BMW Vision Future Luxury
The BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept was first revealed at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, in April this year. Recently, the concept car made another appearance at Concourse d’Elegance in May. The most appreciable features of this BMW concept are:
- Refined aerodynamics and intelligent lightweight engineering under BMW EfficientDynamics
- Rear seat touch command tablet

2- Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV
This concept vehicle from the Mercedes-Benz was put on display at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. This is a subcompact two-door coupe with revolutionary styling and ground-breaking aerodynamics. The Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV holds:
- V6 gasoline engine with permanent all-wheel drive and 9G TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission

3- Toyota FT-1 Concept
Unveiled at the 2014 NAIAS, the Toyota FT-1 Concept is already approved for production. The Japanese automaker has also launched the car in virtual simulation for the Grand Turismo players. The salient features include:
- Powered by a high-technology and high-performance internal combustion engine
- First sports car under the Toyota nameplate replacing the discontinued Supra

4- Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept
Uncovered earlier this year in Detroit, the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept is a three-door compact hatchback based on standard A3. The basic features of this concept are:
- 2.0 litre TFSI four-cylinder turbocharged engine with two electric motors
that produce 408 horsepower and 650 Nm torque
-Body made up with a combination of aluminium and carbon fibre reinforced plastic

5- Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept
Another awe-inspiring concept that appeared in the start of this year was Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept. This sports sedan painted in blood red is built around the following equipment:
- 3.8 litre 24-valve V6 engine with 560 horsepower and 600 Nm torque
- Bumpers, sill skirts, mirror casings, dual-exit exhaust and interior trims in Carbon Fibre

6- Kia GT4 Stinger Concept
The Korean automaker has revealed a revolutionary design of the next-generation sports car. The Kia GT4 Stinger Concept made its first public appearance at the Detroit Auto Show with the following specs:
- 2.0 litre four-cylinder direct injected turbocharged engine with 315 horsepower output
- Vertical LED headlamps, greenhouse design and innovative LED taillights on the exterior
- D-shaped steering wheel, illuminated instrument panel and red-stitched pull straps on interior
7- Cadillac Elmiraj Concept
Although it was initially revealed last year, it only got popular after North American International Auto Show in January this year. The Cadillac Elmiraj concept is a grand coupe sporting:
- 4.5 litre twin turbocharged V8 engine producing 500 horsepower
- Longer wheelbase with shorter overhangs shapes the extended bonnet

8- Nissan Sport Sedan Concept
Nissan unearthed this extremely stylish four-door sedan at the biggest motor show in the world, NAIAS. Although technical specs of the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept were not announced, what we know is:
- Floating roof, V-shaped front with rakish boomerang headlights
- Accommodating up to five adult passengers

9- Volvo V90 Wagon Concept
The Volvo Concept Estate displayed a five-door wagon at 2014 Geneva Motor Show that was held in March 2014. This Volvo V90 Wagon Concept is up for the production and is likely to replace the existing Volvo V70. The salient features include:
- Four-cylinder engine with hybrid or plug-in hybrid power

10- Maserati Alfieri Concept
Named after one of the five Maserati brothers, the Maserati Alfieri Concept is a stylish two-door coupe that first appeared in 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Confirmed for production in 2016, this concept car has:
- 4.7 litre V6 engine that produces around 520 hp
- Exterior inspired from the Maserati A6 built in 1954
Most of these concept cars might not go into product but we will surely get to see the best in them in the upcoming models.
