Let’s be honest, the future of mankind is looking pretty shaky at the moment. Talk of war dominates the news on a daily basis, and nuclear fallout seems inevitable if the US and North Korea keep flexing their muscles. But don’t worry, because while most of humanity will surely perish in the ensuring fallout of nuclear war, you’ll be safe and sound in your very own luxury nuclear bunker 45ft below the ground in Savannah, Georgia.
Well, if you’ve got $17.5M to spare that is, because that’s how much this converted former US army base will set you back. Still, you get quite a lot for your money. Aside from obviously saving your life, the nuclear bunker, which is set in 32 acres of land and covers more than 14,000ft of living space, also comes with 3ft-thick walls, an air intake system, a nurse’s room, decontamination showers, and a CCTV system worth $100,000. Oh, and it can withstand a 20 kiloton nuclear explosion too. Built during the Cold War in 1969, the bunker was fully renovated in 2012 and now contains four spacious apartments that each include a kitchen, a dining area, two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. Better be careful who you choose to live with though, as you might be down there for a very long time…
