Someone waved out to Chrome, world’s No. 1 mobile browser, with a ‘Hi!’ at Times Square! No, it was not an anonymous message from some discreet sender. The sender was UC Browser and the message read “Hi, Chrome.”

UC at NYC

Wondering why? Here’s the whole picture… UC Browser recently became the world’s No. 2 mobile browser, surpassing Apple’s Safari, and this without being the default browser unlike Chrome on Android and Safari on IOS devices. Woah!

Mind you, its not the first time that brands have shown streaks of competitive advertising. Call it a friendly banter if you must but its surely about making your presence felt. Are we talking David v/s Goliath here? Not really. Here are a few brands who’ve really kicked a@@!

Audi v/s BMW

The world really enjoyed this witty game of chess! The only ones deciding who the winner is might be the customer though.

Pantene and Dove

Pantene v/s Dove

At a time when Pantene [or so we’ve heard] invested a lot of money to set up a teaser campaign for a mystery shampoo, Dove totally stole the show with Pantene’s teaser campaign going for a toss!

Starbucks v/s Costa Coffee

If it comes to winning hearts, nothing works better than a hot piping cup of coffee backed by some great customer service.

Housing, CommonFloor and Teewe

While consumers were still deciding where to look, Teewe helped them make up their minds. Smart, isn’t it!?

Pepsi v/s Coke

How can cola brands be far behind. Here’s  a classic that will help you make a clear choice.

In case you are still wondering about why Chrome got teased, Here’s the whole picture.

Presently, UC Browser is the numero uno in India and has clocked in more than half of the mobile browsing market share. The reason for it being high on consumer choice is its unique technology that compresses data and allows faster load time and data cost savings.

Your move Chrome!
